These wheels are used on portable (hand-held) angle grinders and are available in diameters of 100 to 230mm. Almost
all of the advice for Type 41 and Type 42 wheels applies to this type of wheel. In addition:

    1.   They should be used at an angle of 30°-  40°to the workpiece.

    2.   Shallower angles can cause the wheel edge to feather and break up.
    3.   If you have to use a wheel at a shallower angle for a short period, dress the edge back to shape by running it
briefly at an angle of 60°-  80°until restored.
    4.   For efficient metal removal, the grinding edge should be moved in an outward direction, away from the body.

    5.   Do not press down too hard with the wheel as this can cause edge chipping and glazing. Remember - let the
          wheel do the work.
